Volunteer Advocate Program

Give the gift of your time and make a difference in the lives of others by becoming a Project Sister Family Services Advocate. Our 24 hour hotline provides immediate confidential crisis assistance to survivors of sexual assault and/or child abuse. Non offending family members may be eligible for some services.

By taking our State certified training course, you will be eligible to become a certified Crisis Intervention Counselor for Sexual Assault, providing crisis counseling on the phone and in-person advocacy at hospitals, police stations and in court. You will learn about:

  • Crisis intervention
  • Psychological, Sociological, and medical aspects of sexual assault
  • The criminal justice process
  • Legal procedures and valuable social service resources
  • Law enforcement
  • And so much more!

How To Apply?

Step 1: Application

To complete the Volunteer Advocate On-line Application, please click here

Step 2: Training Dates

On our website you will find the next volunteer training dates to become an advocate. Full attendance is required for all advocate training dates. Before applying please align your schedule with the training dates to eliminate attendance conflicts.

Step 3: Interview

Once applications are received interviews can then be scheduled. Interviews begin one month before each training starts and must be completed one week before training begins.
